Easter Praises!

Woo Hoo!!

"I think you can all imagine their joy and what a happy moment that was for them," McColl said outside of the Phillips home in Underhill. "They're all just so happy and relieved. Andrea wanted me to tell the nation that all of your prayers and good wishes have paid off because Capt. Phillips is safe."

Prayer for Captain Phillips

Eternal Father, strong to save
Whose arm hath bound the restless wave
Who bidst the mighty ocean deep
Its own appointed limits keep
O, hear us when we cry to thee
For those in peril on the sea
O, Trinity of love and power
Our brethern shield in danger's hour
From rock and tempest, fire and FOE
Protect them whereso'er they go
Thus evermore shall rise to Thee
Glad praise from air, from land and sea

Don't corrupt American Medicine

Freedom of Conscience is Fundamental to American
Values

As Concerned Women for America reminds us:

No one should be forced to participate in an immoral act.

Conscientious objectors are exempt from combat. Physicians opposed to the death penalty are not forced to administer lethal injections.

Doctors should not be forced to do procedures they believe are immoral.

Today a few of us tried to raise awareness of the potential recision of the current conscience clause for Christian medical professionals. We went to St. Anthony's Hospital in Denver.

Sadly, we were asked to leave. Chased off the property. I guess our signs saying "Protect conscience rights" were too strong for the hospital staff to take.

We went to the sidewalk out front and a security guard came again to tell us that we had to go across the street with our message. Fortunately, we knew we were on city sidewalks and had every right to exercise our
1st Amendment rights.

Do you fear for the country we are leaving our children and grandchildren?

Visit Freedom to Care and act!

Thank you Jesus

Plea to Save a Life

Refugee fears death in Pakistan

AARON HARRIS/TORONTO STAR

Roohi Tabassum, 44, shown in her lawyer's office April 6, 2009, says she will be killed by her husband if she is deported to Pakistan, booked for this month.

Hairdresser says husband overseas has threatened to 'finish' her if she's deported to her native land

KENYON WALLACE
STAFF REPORTER

Roohi Tabassum had nothing when she arrived in Canada eight years ago as a refugee from Pakistan.

But since then, Tabassum, 44, has built a life in this country. She cuts hair at a salon. She bought a house in Mississauga. She calls Canada her home.

But at the end of the month, the life Tabassum struggled to build for so long is in danger of ending. An unsuccessful refugee claimant, she faces a deportation order to Pakistan that could, she says, be a death sentence.

Tabassum says her husband, Faisal Javed, currently living in Dubai, has sent her written threats saying she has dishonoured him by working at a salon where she touches the hair of men and women.

Tabassum also says her husband suspects she has a boyfriend after a friend's husband answered her phone one night when her husband called from Dubai.

"If I go back I will be killed and because of me, some of my relatives will be in trouble too," Tabassum said through tears in an interview.

A lot to admire

"I Admire Margaret Sanger Enormously" -- Hillary Clinton Awarded by Planned Parenthood

"We should hire three or four colored ministers, preferably with social-service backgrounds, and with engaging personalities. The most successful educational approach to the Negro is through a religious appeal. We don't want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population. and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members."

Till we all meet again . . .

Four years ago this morning, Terri Schindler Schiavo finally succumbed to the state ordered murderous starvation and dehydration regime in Florida, after 13 days.

My friends and I had been furiously working with a few sympathetic Florida legislators to pass a sip of water bill, believing that if we could get Terri a sip of water, some ice chips . . . perhaps she'd make it.

Knowing full well that any animal owner who perpetrated the same torment on a pet or livestock would be put in jail, we worked to point out the madness we were witnessing and the world was watching.

Gabriel Keys and his sister Josie, homeschoolers who bucked the system - attempting to bring Terri a drink of water - were arrested.

These two young men from a far away state brought flowers in a vase designed to be able to assuage Terri's horrific thirst, should they be able to get past the police and dogs guarding the Hospice Woodside entrance.

During my numerous flights to Florida to join the hundreds, if not thousands, fighting for Terri's life, I pondered the day we'd meet. I considered her a friend, though we'd never met. That day has been postponed, but I pray that she and my precious Tuesday have recently become friends. I pray the words of scripture in Romans 8:28 have and will continue to bring comfort to the Schindler family as they remember and honor their beloved Terri on this poignant day.

8 Weeks

8 Weeks

Of asking why,

Lord, did Tuesday have to die?

8 weeks of tears oft shed,

each a memory of things she said

or did - we loved

to see or hear.

8 weeks of broken hearts,

trying to mend - yet still afar

it seems so odd, this loss we grieve.

It makes no sense but we believe.

You love her Lord, even more than we

and so we beg, you’ll help us see

you weaving our pain for something good.

To bring some meaning, some things understood.

For this we pray, that with each day

You’ll help us see and know your love,

for Tuesday’s life

Knows no bounds and will suffice . . .

Until we see her once again

all face to face in your embrace

Abortion Industry Needs "Pride" Movement: Brown University Bioethicist and Author
By Hilary White

March 26, 2009 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The abortion industry needs a "pride" movement, similar to that of the immensely successful homosexualist movement, a prominent US bioethicist says. Jacob M. Appel, an author, professor at Brown University and graduate of Harvard Law, wrote on the website "Opposing Views," that "the moment is ripe - more than ripe - for an Abortion Pride Movement."

Appel says that "one is bombarded" in the "conservative" press with stories of women who overcome obstacles to bring to term "fetuses" with severe disabilities. "The implication," he wrote, "is that while bearing a child when one is ready is a blessing, bearing a child when one is not prepared garners one extra moral credit in the cosmos." This praise of women carrying difficult pregnancies to term, he submits, constitutes an "anti-abortion" pride movement.

But for those Americans who believe "that life begins after conception," such stories are "not at all a cause for pride." "It more is akin to deciding that the world is flat and then boasting of not falling off the edge."

He complains that women who have abortions are "rarely encouraged to take pride in their decisions." Calling abortion a "courageous and noble moral choice," Appel wrote, "Women who step up to the ethical plate and have the strength to say, 'This is the wrong time,' or 'This is the wrong fetus,' should hold their heads high in the streets."

While he admitted that "terminating a pregnancy" can be a "difficult choice," "our society should be proud of them too."

"Our message should not be merely toleration or resigned acquiescence, but genuine joy that someone has made a decision for their own and for the collective good."

Aren't Jacob's mother and employer "proud" that his life wasn't sacrificed for the "collective good"?

EVIL FEMINISTS SCHEME TO KILL BRAZILIAN TWINS

Having recently lost a precious twin grand baby, this story and its follow up by Boundforlife below truly grieves me, as it does Jesus!

"Dr. Elizabeth Kipman Cerqueira, a Brazilian obstetrician, said in a public statement on the case that "I don’t know anyone who died because of the young age at which she was impregnated, if she received adequate accompaniment," and that she personally knows of cases of 10 year olds who gave birth and are in good health. She added that the abortion is likely to do serious damage to the girl psychologically, and noted that early labor could have been induced at some point after 22 weeks, rather than an abortion. The twins were already at over 20 weeks gestation when they were killled."

Note their Orwellian doublespeak:

"However, despite the lack of danger to the mother, pro-abortion physicians at the highest levels of the hospital were conspiring to bring about the death of her unborn twins. Vilma Guimares, the coordinator of IMIP’s Center for Attention for Women, was publicly advocating an abortion as early as February 27, even though she admitted that she had never examined the girl. "In situations of pregnancies that carry risks for the mother it is better to interrupt the pregnancy," she told the Diario de Pernambuco newspaper. Based on such a standard, abortions could be justified in all pregnancies, because pregnancy always carries some degree of risk."

There is no depth of depravity to which the blood thirsty will not stoop!

A Rare Glimpse

Death-scort – Ron Pringle

I’m not certain how long Ron has been an “escort” for evil, Planned Parenthood in Denver. But, I can say this, he has gone out of his way to be unkind to those who try to rescue those being unjustly led to the slaughter.

Today, on my first venture to Colorado’s slaughterhouse, for some time, I was astonished to be approached by a Planned Parenthood death-scort.

Ron came across the street to speak to me today. As he approached, I recall wondering if he was coming to chastise me for some crazy regulation I was violating, or if he would yell at me for - what ever?

Nevertheless, Ron spoke to me in a completely different manner than ever before.

Ron Pringle spoke into my heart today, in a way that completely baffled my mind. He told me that he had heard about my twin grand daughter, Tuesday’s passing.

He told me today that he was a twin. He admitted that he was a grandfather. Ron Pringle told me that he was sorry that my grand baby had died.

I couldn’t quite believe he was telling me these words.
In my choked up voice, I thanked him. But, I softly spoke these words.

“You’ve got to get out of this business.” He leaned into me and said “What?”
“You have to get out of this business, Ron.”

He nodded his head, yes.

I can’t quite believe that he meant what he acknowledged.

Yet, I pray that the prayers of my friends and myself will bear fruit.

I LOVE THIS WOMAN !!!!!

Beauty is as beauty does - so says Tara Wheeler, Miss Virginia 2008.

This wonderful woman is planning to shave her head for St. Baldricks
pediatric cancer fundraiser, if she is able to raise $500,000 before
April 11.

Seems like a huge, impossible task but . . .

I'm rooting for Tara. I'm praying that our citizens will rally for this
incredible cause. I've donated in the memory of my precious twin
grand daughter, Tuesday Fiona Whitt.

Poppy and Grammy want there to be no more babies, or children
who need to suffer and die before their time.

Will you help Tara? Will you pledge to help defeat pediatric cancer?

Thank you!

Reports: Woman gave birth, left baby on plane

2 hrs 52 mins ago

WELLINGTON, New Zealand – A woman who secretly gave birth on a flight from Samoa to New Zealand may face criminal charges after her baby was found alive in the plane's bathroom, police and media reports said Friday.

Police are inquiring into "the alleged ... abandonment of the child by the mother" after the flight landed in New Zealand on Thursday, police communications manager Ana-Mari Gates-Bowey said. "A likelihood of this investigation is a criminal prosecution."

Media reports said the mother left the baby in a bathroom waste bin on the Pacific Blue plane carrying 150 passengers; others said she was spotted with bloodied clothes in an immigration line. Police have declined comment on the reports.
Gates-Bowey said late Thursday the woman had undergone surgery at Auckland's Middlemore Hospital and was later reunited with her baby. Its gender has not been disclosed.

"We are relieved to have been informed that both mother and child are reunited, are well and are now being looked after in hospital," Pacific Blue said in a statement Thursday.

Luxembourg Legalizes Euthanasia
By Thaddeus M. Baklinski

LUXEMBOURG, March 18, 2009 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Luxembourg has enacted legislation to legalise euthanasia, thereby becoming the third European country, after the Netherlands and Belgium, to permit the intentional killing of dying or otherwise vulnerable people.

The Palliative Care/Euthanasia bill was published in the Official Journal on Tuesday and provides that doctors who carry out euthanasia and assisted suicides will not face "penal sanctions" or civil lawsuits.

"This bill is not a permit to kill," said Socialist lawmaker Lydie Err, who helped draft it. "It's not a law for the parents or the doctors but for the patient and the patient alone to decide if he wants to put an end to his suffering."

According to the bill, euthanasia will be regulated by a living will or advance directive. Doctors will also be required to consult with a colleague to ensure that the patient has a terminal illness and is in a "grave and incurable condition" before killing him.

Alex Schadenberg of the Euthanasia Prevention Coalition condemned the actions of the Luxembourg parliament.

"It is a very sad day for Luxembourg. The nation of Luxembourg has now approved the direct and intentional killing of its citizens at the most vulnerable time of their life," he said. "Whatever good intentions that may be related to the elimination of suffering, cannot justify the removal of the basic protection of a citizen to be free from lethal coercion, and the protection of life."

"After many years of euthanasia in the Netherlands, it has now become very apparent that the euthanasia experiment is a failure. Children born with disabilities can be killed if the doctors and the family follow the Groningen Protocol. People with chronic depression can be killed and in the last government report in 2005 it stated that 550 people were killed by euthanasia without consent."

Schadenberg concluded: "Now Luxembourg is following the path of the Netherlands. I lament the decision and I hope that other national leaders will have the fortitude, like the Grand Duke, to oppose the direct and intentional killing by euthanasia of their vulnerable citizens."

The Grand Duke of Luxembourg made headlines in December of last year, after he announced that he would not be willing to affix his signature to the new law, as is required for a law to become effective. To solve this problem parliament simply enacted legislation removing the Grand Duke's veto power.

“They’re nothing more than a baby-killing organization”

“They’re nothing more than a baby-killing organization”

Orange County supervisors cut off funding to Planned Parenthood

The Orange County Board of Supervisors has voted unanimously to rescind a contract with Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties because of the organization’s links to abortion.

“I don’t believe the county should be funding abortion, and I don’t believe the county really should be involved in funding an organization who performs about 35 percent of the abortions in the country,” said Supervisor Chris Norby, the Orange County Register reported.

The 5-0 vote came on Tuesday, March 10, following a lengthy debate and many comments from the public. Supervisors directed county staff to end funding to Planned Parenthood within 30 days under a $7.5 million contract with the Orange County Coalition of Community Clinics. County health officials should find another member of the community clinics coalition that could use Planned Parenthood’s share of the contract money, supervisors decided.

Altogether, Planned Parenthood had been slated to receive $341,788 under two contracts through the Coalition of Community Clinics – one for $50,000 to provide immunizations and a second for $291,788 to provide teens and pre-teens with sex education, including information on birth control and sexually transmitted diseases.

It was the larger of the two contracts that received the ax from the supervisors. The board also voted to ask county attorneys to look into the legality of their decision and to report back to the supervisors before it takes effect after opponents of the action raised the issue during discussions of the funding cut, the Register said.

“It’s clear this decision is being driven by personal religious ideology and not the vision of health care for the county,” Jon Dunn, president of Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties, told the Register following the vote. “They’re opposed to our organization because they’re opposed to a woman’s right to choose.”

“Please discontinue this support of Planned Parenthood,” Buena Park pastor Wiley Drake asked the supervisors during the public comments portion of the meeting, the Register reported. “They can blow smoke all day long, but they’re nothing more than a baby-killing organization.”

The matter of the Planned Parenthood contracts was first brought to the attention of the board in February by Supervisor John Moorlach, who expressed surprise after an Orange County resident told him Planned Parenthood was getting county funding.

"We have a problem with financing Planned Parenthood, period," Mario Mainero, Moorlach's chief of staff, told the Register in an earlier story about the supervisor’s decision to ask his colleagues to rescind the contracts. "We just don't think government money should be used to talk to teens and preteens about birth control and abortion."

Sebelius's 'Choice' Obama's Messenger for Moral Incoherence

Sebelius's 'Choice'
Obama's Messenger for Moral Incoherence
By Michael Gerson
Wednesday, March 11, 2009; A15

There is a common thread running through President Obama's pro-choice agenda: the coercion of those who disagree with it.

Obama has begun providing federal funds for international groups that promote or perform abortions overseas. He has moved to weaken conscience protections for health-care professionals. And he has chosen the most radical possible option on the use of embryonic stem cells -- a free license for researchers, with boundaries set only by the National Institutes of Health.

Now, taxpayers are likely to fund not only research on the "spare" embryos from in vitro fertilization but also on human lives produced and ended for the sole purpose of scientific exploitation. Biotechnicians have been freed from the vulgar moralism of the masses, so they can operate according to the vulgar utilitarianism of their own social clique -- the belief that some human lives can be planted, plucked and processed for the benefit of others.

It is the incurable itch of pro-choice activists to compel everyone's complicity in their agenda. Somehow, getting "politics out of science" translates into taxpayer funding for embryo experimentation. "Choice" becomes a demand on doctors and nurses to violate their deepest beliefs or face discrimination.

It is probably not a coincidence that Obama has chosen a Roman Catholic -- Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius -- to implement many of these policies as secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services. Obama has every right to a pro-choice Cabinet. But this appointment seems designed to provide religious cover. It also smacks of religious humiliation -- like asking a rabbi to serve the pork roast or an atheist to bless the meal.

Stem cell breakthrough could make ethical debate moot

Baptist Press
Monday, March 02, 2009

WASHINGTON (BP)--A bill that would drastically expand federal funding for embryonic stem cell research has been re-introduced in the Senate, but British and Canadian researchers announced a scientific breakthrough March 2 that could change the course of stem cell research and eventually make the ethical debate moot.
As detailed in the research journal Nature, the researchers found a safer way to reprogram ordinary human skin cells into embryonic-like stem cells. While a 2007 study by Japanese and American researchers did something very similar, the British and Canadian researchers did it without the use of a virus, which the '07 teams had used to complete the process. Researchers feared the use of viruses to turn the skin cells into the stem cells could cause cancer in patients.

Stem cells are the body's master cells that can develop into other cells and tissues, and they have the potential for leading to cures for diseases and other ailments.

"It is a step towards the practical use of reprogrammed cells in medicine, perhaps even eliminating the need for human embryos as a source of stem cells," one of the researchers, Keisuke Kaji of the University of Edinburgh, told the Guardian newspaper. "This new method will advance the field of regenerative medicine and should help understand diseases and test new drugs."
