COLORADO PERSONHOOD WARRIORS! Urgent pre-caucus alert

Dear Pro-life Friends,
Colorado Right to Life urges your attendance at your precinct caucus this evening at 7 pm.

Our candidate survey results blog post is very revealing about stances on Personhood & other pro-life issues, please see the CRTL Blog:

Please insist that any candidates you support must support Personhood.

Also, you can print out and introduce the following resolution:

Be it resolved that the ________________ County Republican Party supports the passage of an amendment to the Colorado constitution to apply the term "person" to every human being from the beginning of their biological development. (Print out the resolution to bring to your caucus!) Have a fellow pro-life Republican prepared to second your motion to assure the motion will be voted upon and if passed proceed to the County and State conventions.

Please don’t forget to bring along your Personhood petitions to get signatures from those in attendance. Your bold stance for the babies will make you stand out in the crowd as someone worthy of carrying the message to the County Conventions and State Convention later this year. Run as a candidate to both!!

We praise God for your commitment to the babies and to the sanctity of life for all, from the beginning of biological development - through natural death!

Always for life and for the babies,

Self-proclaimed "pro-life" Catholic awards Colorado abortionists 18 million

By Bob Unruh
© 2010 WorldNetDaily

Colorado Gov. Bill Ritter

A judge's decision letting Colorado's pro-abortion governor direct tax funds to Planned Parenthood and other players in the nation's abortion industry, even though taxpayers in the state specifically banned that action, is being appealed.

"The democratic process and the rule of law should not be sacrificed for the sake of benefitting Planned Parenthood's bottom line," said lead counsel Barry Arrington, one of more than 1,600 attorneys in the ADF alliance.

"The governor and other state officials are not at liberty to ignore the will of the people on this matter. Colorado voters amended the state constitution to prohibit tax dollar subsidies to abortion providers, so it's the right decision to take this to the court of appeals," he said.

WND reported in 2008 when the original lawsuit was filed, alleging Gov. Bill Ritter was violating the state's constitution.

The complaint cited state payments of $18 million to Planned Parenthood and another abortionist, despite a Colorado constitutional ban on taxpayer funds being used "directly or indirectly" for abortions.

The Denver District Court lawsuit action was brought by Arrington, who is affiliated with the Alliance Defense Fund, on behalf of taxpayer Mark Hotaling, who leads the Christian Family Alliance.

Determined To Save The Soul Of The Nation

Across the country, groundswells of Personhood efforts have already altered the focus of the pro-life movement, and over the President's Day weekend, those efforts were realized.

In two key states, we gathered enough signatures to put “Personhood” on the ballot. This Personhood Movement and the initiatives it has produced have only one goal: To restore God given dignity to every human person.

I had the honor of attending victory rallies for Personhood in both Mississippi and Colorado. The fervent energy that burns in the hearts of the valiant advocates of Personhood was an encouragement that almost defies description! Although the rallies were held over one thousand miles apart, both possessed the same purpose that can only be present when Christians band together and sacrifice their time, talent and energy for the love and protection of their neighbors.

Following the examples of heroes like Rosa Parks and William Wilberforce, Colorado volunteers collected nearly 80,000 signatures to place the “Personhood Amendment” on the ballot for a second consecutive election. And this historic achievement was the result of the sweat and labor of purely grassroots volunteers.

Just a few days later and with tears of joy, faithful volunteers delivered over 130,000 signatures to Mississippi’s Secretary of State, affirming the God-given right to life of all people. The boxes of dog eared petitions were carried into the office of the Secretary of State by mothers, daughters, fathers and sons, and most notably Mississippi’s Lt. Governor, and front-running 2011 gubernatorial candidate Phil Bryant!

We cannot know the exact effects these amendments will bring. But it is certain here and now that we have won major victories. Volunteers gathered over 200,000 signatures in two states. 2,500 churches opened their doors to the Personhood Movement. We boldly proclaimed to hundreds of thousands of people that all human life is sacred: asking and answering the provocative question: “When should human rights begin?”. While these are all victories in their own right --and are undeniable evidence of the power of this movement -- there remains a larger accomplishment that I believe will prove most indelible upon the soul of the nation.

That victory, (and I believe the most significant fruit of the Personhood Movement) is the determination now manifest in the hearts of the thousands of volunteers who are making Personhood a reality. I felt its power lift my spirit with the strength of a three-fold cord at the victory rallies. Recognizing themselves in the tiniest among us, these Christians are engaging the culture around them and selflessly giving of their time, talents and money to affirm the God-given right of Personhood for all children including the pre-born.

Undaunted by anti-personhood naysayers, these volunteers have committed their hearts, and their hands to turn back the perpetration of the most diabolical crime ever committed; a crime that includes the dehumanization and murder of an entire class of citizens. It is this determination, built upon the firm pillars of science, religion, and the common conscience of all humanity that will bring victory over the injustice of abortion. We are witnessing the emerging dominance of the most significant human rights movement of our lifetime because Christians are engaging the culture with Personhood. And the culture is responding!

I’m overwhelmed to think of the hundreds of thousands of people reached with the message of Personhood by this young and growing army of dedicated volunteers. And with the increasing momentum of the Personhood argument comes ever more Personhood volunteers determined to communicate to millions the truth that every human is a person and should be protected by love and by law. Such determination is the real victory. And while, like the future effects of the law establishing Personhood, its ultimate impact remains to be fully revealed, this victory has convinced me that dignity shall be restored to all humans. Praise God!

23+23=46, No really!

Ok, it really irks me to give RHReality Check's Wendy Norris credit for anything, but I have to thank her for giving my first attempt at stand up comedy a plug!

And she didn't even make note that I kind of mangled the punch line!

Her report and Tweets from our Personhood CO petition turn in and rally spread the word about our amazing feat (imo) of turning in nearly 80,000 signatures Friday to the Secretary of State. She gave my opening line a bit of note:

"I hope nobody minds but I did bring my crib notes with me today," Hanks said as she flashed her palm at the supporters. "In case you can't see this it says 23 + 23 = 46. One precious new human being made in God's image. That's embryology 101 for those egg-as-a-person supporters who might be in the audience."

but sadly went on to outright lie about me. What up, Wendy?

"While Mason tried to strike an upbeat note for the group's first 2010 state ballot test, the gathering took on a decidedly strange and nastier tone after he introduced Colorado ballot co-sponsors, Gualberto Garcia Jones and Leslie Hanks. During their turns at the stacked box podium, each took verbal swipes at Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains communications director Monica McCafferty, who quietly watched the event from the back of the room, RH Reality Check and this reporter."

I never said a single word about the rather stunning red-head, Monica.

Of course, PP has a history of using attractive, black sophisticated people, as well, to sell their deadly wares.

If one reads the article, the so-called "verbal swipe" is never mentioned after the claim is made.

Journalistic sloppiness or malpractice, you decide?

Personhood Supporters Mince No Words, Seek To Outlaw Abortion

Opponents: Measure Likely To Fail Again

DENVER -- When is a person a person, at the point of birth, or the point of conception?
Colorado voters may get another chance to decide that issue.

Members of Personhood Colorado turned in nearly 80,000 signatures to the Secretary of State’s office in an effort to get a proposed amendment on to the ballot.

They want to outlaw abortion.

“This amendment would change the pre-born child’s status from being property, which it currently is in Colorado, to being a human,” said Keith Mason, co-founder of Personhood USA.

Tuesday: This one's for you!!

This past summer I had the privilege of traveling to Las Vegas for a national PersonhoodUSA strategy meeting and the honor of actually being able to say a few words to the assembled about our efforts in Colorado
to legally protect pre-born babies in the womb.

As I shared about our newly launched campaign to champion life, I lapsed into a teary moment of explanation about why I decided to be a sponsor of Personhood CO 2010. My family's world had just months before been rocked by the death of our 2 year old twin granddaughter, Tuesday.

The brief message I shared that day was that life had become even more intensely special to me, since suffering such profound loss.

I told my peers that I was doing the Personhood campaign for Tuesday, "because she was so precious - and every baby is so precious and worthy of protection and welcoming into our human family."

Yes, every baby is precious - because he or she is a gift from Almighty God - and should be protected by love and law.

And so today I celebrate! As I will have the honor of delivering box after box of petitions to the Colorado Secretary of State representing the blood, sweat and tears of our volunteers in the state that started the abortion holocaust.

We are a cultural cadre - a remnant, if you will. We celebrate life! We honor God and we praise him for every new day that we are given to serve Him.

Thank you Jesus for inspiring our volunteers to work so hard these past 6 months to make it possible for us to go to the Secretary of State's office with our love offering to you and for the babies!

Thank you precious Tuesday for reminding me every time I wondered if we could do it, that for you and all the little ones, I had no choice.

PERSONHOOD CO - No signature left behind campaign!

Well we are down to the wire, in Colorado and Mississippi! And, other states are joining the Personhood movement almost daily.

The Lord has called a remnant to put aside frivolous things and get serious about ending child killing in our lifetime.

I've been fighting for the rights of the pre-born since 1986 and even for laws with which I now disagree - regulating abortion.
Yes, I repent !!

I haven't seen it likely that abortion would be really ended, until I've had the honor and thrill of being directly involved in the Personhood Colorado 2010 redux of Amendment 48 - which garnered 600,000 votes in 2008.

Will you please pray fervently for our final 48 hours that every person who has a petition, with any signatures on it, will get it to either Colorado Right to Life or Personhood Colorado's offices before the end of Thursday, October 11, 2010? If you have a relative in Colorado who hasn't had a chance to sign a petition, have them call CRL - 303-753-9394 or Personhood CO at 303-456-2600.

The babies love you and will thank you, who will receive legal protection from the beginning of biological development - if we get on the ballot, and educate effectively about their infinitely valuable dignity and humanity !!

ENDING ABORTION IN OUR LIFETIMES! WHAT A CONCEPT!!!

Black Athlete Boomerang!

Look for evil Planned Parenthood's Superbowl ad, exploiting black athletes, to backfire.

Their founder, Margaret Sanger, was a racist and PP targets black babies - nearly 1,500 die by abortion daily. It's about time for that news to go viral and because they couldn't let Tim Tebow's story be told without firing back, they just might have shot themselves in the foot.

PP clinics are routinely placed in minority neighborhoods and though black woman comprise 6% of the population, they receive over 30% of America's abortions.

And oh yes, last year, they agreed to take donations to kill black babies, as James O'Keefe exposed.

Reverend Clenard Childress' website, Blackgenocide.org, has been
educating on the decimation of his race for years.

The timing of Planned Parenthood, on what should become a PR disaster, is just perfect!

Seems a new website will be a blockbuster in opening eyes to the shameful genocide that has been perpetrated by the slick and well funded death peddlers: Toomanyaborted.com

And the incredible movie Maafa 21, which is about to burst onto the radar screen, documents Ms Sanger's evil, eugenic intent so clearly, the
genie will never go back into the bottle!

Ephesians 2: 8-10

Of course Heisman Trophy winner, Tim Tebow, is and will continue to be all over the media as the
Super Bowl approaches and the microcosm of pro-life v pro-death voices continue to elevate
to a fevered pitch, culminating in an ad during the biggest game of the year, or not . . .

But for today, there is a neat side effect as the tempest in a teapot rages.

The Denver Post's Sunday edition has a relatively balanced editorial, "Nothing Wrong With Tebow Ad," written by a self-proclaimed agnostic.

While I can agree with his sentiments,

"Progressives who are protesting against CBS for deciding to air a Focus on the Family ad during the Super Bowl are likely hurting their cause more than serving it.

I'm an agnostic who supports a woman's right to choose and not given to feeling protective of Focus on the Family. But in this case, I think the Christian ministry is being bullied. Why shouldn't the group be allowed to showcase Pam Tebow, the pro-life Christian mother of Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow?"

Read more:

I think the bigger story for me is the photo accompanying our local coverage of the national flap - a sweet one of Tim and his Mom, Pam.

Tim has some scripture in the black football players wear below their eyes in order to deflect glare.

When I did a Google search on Ephesians to see what message he was trying to send the world, this week as he stands in the spotlight, I was incredulous to discover the first verse to pop up with Ephesians put in the search window was the verse under his eyes - Ephesians 2:8-10.

While the feminist harpies, squeal about whether Pam Tebow's noble choice should be aired during the Super Bowl, they would be wiser to ponder the meaning of the verse this humble young man chose to impact hearts and minds.

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them."

Baby Isaiah given 3 days to live by government
Parents fight socialized-medicine machine to keep newborn from having plug pulled

By Drew Zahn

Isaiah James May was born a little after 5 p.m. on Oct. 24, 2009, and was scheduled to die this past week – on Wednesday, Jan. 20 – just short of his three-month birthday.

That was the day chosen by Canada's publicly funded, government health service as the deadline for Isaiah to recover from his traumatic birth or be taken off life-support.

"There is no hope of recovery for Isaiah," reads a letter from Alberta Health Services delivered to Isaiah's parents and dated one week before the health care system intended to pull the plug on the baby it has determined irreparably brain damaged.

"Your treating physicians regretfully have come to the conclusion that withdrawal of active treatment is medically reasonable, ethically responsible and appropriate," the letter states. "We must put the interests of your son foremost, and it is in his best interests to discontinue mechanical ventilation support."

Personhood: Keeping the dream alive!

On this anniversary of Martin Luther King's birthday, this Washington Times Op-ed piece by his niece, Dr. Alveda King, is a timely reminder of the epic struggle to restore legal protection to all lives from the beginning of their biological development.

The burgeoning Personhood movement is on the march and will, at the same time, help restore MLK's dream of recognizing the inherent human rights, dignity and worth of all human beings.

Pastor Walter Hoye and Lila Rose are heading up the California Personhood effort and their focus on civil rights is front and center.

Thank you, Dr. Alveda King for reminding us what this generational struggle is really about!

"The abortionist's eye is on us"

Alveda C. King

Let me begin by telling you that two of 50 million children taken away by abortionists since 1973 were mine. I can still see them in my mind's eye.

Like many black women, I once believed the doctor who told me my babies were no more than "a blob of tissue." I wanted to believe it. Eventually, I realized I was wrong, that I was a secondary victim of abortion. I repented and found healing through God. Today, I work in the civil rights movement of the our century -- the right of every one of every race to live.

I am asking you to join me. Let me tell you why. Abortion and racism are evil twins, born of the same lie. Where racism now hides its face in public, abortion is accomplishing the goals of which racism only once dreamed. Together, abortionists are destroying humanity at large and the black community in particular.

Abortion has taken a gruesome toll on the black community, killing more than AIDS and crime combined. Some 14 million black babies have been aborted since the 1973 U.S. Supreme Court Roe v. Wade decision that legalized abortion in all stages in all 50 states. That's equal to one-third of the number of blacks living today.

The case for Roe collapses!

'Personhood' to be theme at 2010 Roe anniversary

Blackmun: If this is established, abortion 'rights' would, of course, 'collapse'

Posted: January 12, 2010

By Bob Unruh
© 2010 WorldNetDaily

At the annual March for Life Jan. 22, pro-life groups will use the anniversary of the 1973 Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision to raise the profile of "personhood."

The term is used by a movement in state legislatures to define unborn babies as persons, affording them the same guaranteed right to life as all other Americans.

Probably the first definitive statement on the idea came from Justice Harry Blackmun, who wrote the majority opinion for Roe v. Wade, when he said: "The appellee and certain amici [pro-lifers] argue that the fetus is a 'person' within the language and meaning of the Fourteenth Amendment. In support of this, they outline at length and in detail the well-known facts of fetal development. If this suggestion of personhood is established, the appellant's case, of course, collapses, for the fetus' right to life would then be guaranteed specifically by the [14th] Amendment."
(Story continues below)

Personhood Colorado 2010's Co-sponsor, Gualberto Garcia Jones, Youtube video brings to life the oral arguments phase of the actual Roe v Wade Supreme Court decision.

This year's March for Life events around the country are guaranteed to bring hope to a nation weary of over 40 years of destroying innocent lives - hope for the first time that, "abortion might end in my lifetime."

Shocking Reversal: Researcher at National Cancer Institute Admits Abortions DO Raise Breast Cancer Risks

"Although the study was published nine months ago, the NCI, the American Cancer Society, Susan G. Komen for the Cure and other cancer fundraising businesses have made no efforts to reduce breast cancer rates by issuing nationwide warnings to women."

Less than two months since the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force issued new guidelines recommending against routine mammograms for women in their forties, a second breast cancer scandal involving a U.S. government panel of experts has come to light which has implications for healthcare reform.

An April 2009 study by Jessica Dolle et al. of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center examining the relationship between oral contraceptives (OCs) and triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) in women under age 45 contained an admission from U.S. National Cancer Institute (NCI) researcher Louise Brinton and her colleagues (including Janet Daling) that abortion raises breast cancer risk by 40%.

"Why I Can't Wait" - Elegant Defense of the black child in the womb

Pastor Walter Hoye writes the most compelling case for ending abortion written in years in
this essay, addressing the naysayers about the rapidly growing Personhood Movement. Launched in Colorado with Kristi Burton's Amendment 48 citizen's initiative to legally protect the baby in the womb, from the beginning of that child's biological development, now over 40 states are pursuing similar efforts to end legalized child killing.

Co-sponsor of the California Personhood initiative along with the indomitable Lila Rose of Live Action, he has also founded the California Civil Rights Foundation.

Expect to see more of this cultural warrior, who recently served some time in prison for witnessing to women about to end the lives of their growing, developing, pre-born babies. His powerful witness for black americans will deservedly rock our nation!

When a new human life begins! An expert speaks.

How quickly does this fusion between sperm and egg take place?

It’s a very rapid event. In less than a second, an entirely new human cell comes into existence. This new human cell (known as a zygote) has a unique molecular composition that’s distinct from either the sperm or the egg. And its behavior also differs radically from that of either sperm or egg.

In what way?

Well, for example, the zygote’s first act is to change its composition so no other sperm can bind to its surface. This happens within the first 30 minutes following sperm-egg fusion.

So you’re saying this little single cell biologically acts as a coordinated whole “in its own interest,” so to speak?

I would say that even at the one-cell stage, the zygote is directing its own development. About five or six days later, at about the time of implantation, the embryo produces a hormone that can be detected in the mother’s blood or urine to tell her she’s pregnant.

New movie recycles old pro-abort lie! Parasite or Posterity?

A new pro abortion movie which purports to explore both sides of the contentious issue of whether babies in-utero are targets for destruction, has disturbing dialog calling a baby in the womb a parasite.

The habit of dehumanization of our tiniest citizens isn't new. "FETUS" has been a word much maligned and which has been
particularly effective in making mommies believe their posterity is nothing more than a nuisance to be eradicated from sight and mind. "Egg as Person" was the most absurd yet effective meme of Colorado's Amendment 48 Personhood 2008 campaign. RH Reality Check had lots of fun pretending they had a clue about embryology and mocking the individuals who truly believe that life is sacred and worthy of legal protection from the beginning of the baby's biological beginning.

Southdakotathemovie.com repeats both lies and the time to rebut them is long overdue.

Far from being a new slogan, as some have feared, the parasitic claim was proclaimed by feminist
icon and family destroyer, Gloria Steinem.

UNBORN BABIES ARE "PARASITES"

"A woman would have the right to abortion just as she has a right to remove any parasitic growth from her body." (Gloria Steinem, author and feminist leader, on CNN, Sept. 9, 1981.)

Roe V Wade was about Personhood: Abolishing abortion is too!

The mystery is why pro-lifers don't believe what Harry Blackmun and other justices raised during the oral arguments for Roe v Wade. This Youtube explains.

Blackmun said if "personhood" could be established for a fetus, then "the fetus' right to life would be guaranteed" by the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

PersonhoodUSA.com explains, Person n. A human being.

"A person, simply put, is a human being. This fact should be enough. The intrinsic humanity of unborn children, by definition, makes them persons and should, therefore, guarantee their protection under the law. For more than thirty years, however, this has not been the case. The situation we are left with is this. In America today, there is a huge and singular group of living human beings who have no protection under the law and are being killed en masse every day. Is that not astounding?! It is astounding, but not wholly unprecedented.

There have been at least two other instances in American history in which specific groups of human beings were stripped of their rights of personhood as a means of justifying their horrible mistreatment. African-Americans and Native-Americans both felt the brunt of a system which denied their humanity, stripped their personhood and subjected them to horrors beyond measure. While the legal framework that made such injustice possible has now been removed, it remains firmly in place for unborn Americans.

There remains one, and only one, group of human beings in the U.S. today for which being human is not enough. The inconvenience of their existence has resulted in a legal loophole of shameful proportions. What is a person? A person is a human being (unless, of course, you haven't been born yet, in which case we'll define personhood in any way possible so as to exclude you, kill you and forget you)."

Pastor jailed for Oakland anti-abortion acts

Henry K. Lee, Chronicle Staff Writer
Saturday, March 21, 2009
(03-20) 17:35 PDT OAKLAND --

A pastor at a Berkeley church was jailed Friday for 30 days after unsuccessfully arguing that an order requiring him to stay 100 yards away from an Oakland abortion clinic violates his right to free speech.

Walter Hoye, 52, of Union City was the first person convicted under an Oakland ordinance barring protesters from coming within 8 feet of anyone entering an abortion clinic.

In February, Judge Stuart Hing of Alameda County Superior Court sentenced Hoye to three years' probation and 30 days in jail, and ordered him to pay $1,000.

Hoye could have disposed of the jail time in a sheriff's work detail or by volunteering. But he balked at the judge's order to stay 100 yards from Family Planning Specialists Medical Group at Second and Webster streets. Hoye argued that the order was more severe than Oakland's ordinance and stifled his First Amendment rights.

Hing refused to budge at a hearing Friday at which Hoye's attorneys tried to stay the sentence pending an appeal. The judge asked Hoye to decide whether he wished to serve a month in jail or in an alternative program, and the pastor chose jail.

Supporters shouted, "We love you, Walter," and clapped as Hoye was led away by sheriff's deputies.

Hoye could have faced up to two years in jail after a jury convicted him in January of two misdemeanor counts of unlawfully approaching patients at the clinic.

The Oakland City Council established "medical safety zones" around abortion clinics in 2007. Abortion protesters must stay at least 8 feet from women, staffers or escorts entering the buildings.

The council passed the law in response to complaints of harassment at three abortion clinics in the city.

Hoye, executive elder of the Progressive Missionary Baptist Church in south Berkeley, hands out anti-abortion literature outside abortion clinics. He was arrested May 13 at the Oakland clinic, carrying a sign that read, "Jesus loves you and your baby. Let us help you!"

As women approached the door, he asked them, "May I talk to you about alternatives to the clinic?"

Palin's Political Action Committee Reacts to ProlifeProfiles

DENVER, Nov. 17 /Christian Newswire/ -- SarahPAC Scrubs Site: the political 527 group which claims responsibility for derailing Mitt Romney's presidential hopes in 2008 and which yesterday published an unflattering profile of Sarah Palin, now responds to SarahPAC's alteration today of its own archive.

Within 24 hours of the launch of ProlifeProfiles.com, the official Sarah Palin political action committee removed their own glowing news report of Palin's appointment of a former Planned Parenthood board member, Morgan Christen, to the Alaska Supreme Court. In response, American RTL Action is publishing SarahPAC's broken link, the ProlifeProfiles pdf archive of Palin's own news report, and the current Google cache of the page (which may expire) and its own on-site html archive.

"Sarah Palin's PAC removed their report of Palin's appointment," said Lolita Hanks, ARTL spokeswoman, "telling all of us that they realize this information is incriminating, so we are disappointed that we are not seeing humility from Sarah." King David may have wanted to "scrub" Second Samuel, but the Scriptures shined the light to expose corruption and bring about repentance.

ProlifeProfiles has updated its Palin Profile: "While National RTL and the pro-life industry continue to allow the Body of Christ to be deceived into thinking that Sarah is 100% pro-life, she cannot hide her record from God, nor from the public. Pro-lifers do not appoint abortionists to the Supreme Court just as an abolitionist would not appoint a slave trader. Please pray with us that Sarah will apologize to the children of Alaska, specifically those who have been dismembered since March 4, 2009, for appointing an 'outstanding' unrepentant pro-abortion lawyer. SarahPAC took this information down; ProlifeProfiles put it back up. Welcome to the end of child killing in our lifetime."

Hanks said, "Even if it cost her everything, even her entire political future, we hope that Sarah Palin will take a new stand and make a true commitment to protect unborn children. We have a spot reserved for her on our Tier 1 list of principled pro-life leaders."

Christian Group Questions Palin's Pro-life Credentials

Christian Group Questions Palin's Pro-life Credentials

DENVER, Nov. 16 /Christian Newswire/ -- A political 527 group, which claims responsibility for derailing Mitt Romney's presidential hopes in 2008 in the early-contest states of Iowa and South Carolina, is now targeting Sarah Palin. But for what?

ProlifeProfiles.com, created by a nationwide research team working for American Right To Life, is being launched today highlighting Sarah Palin's surprisingly extensive and unflattering record on abortion.

As Palin's "Going Rogue" is being published, Darrell Birkey, research director for American RTL Action, said that if rogue, "still means misleading and unreliable, then we should add Palin's entire book to her dossier at ProlifeProfiles.com."

In 2007 the nation's oldest "RTL" group, Colorado Right To Life, then a state affiliate of National RTL, issued a press release: "Rift Opens in Christian Right." Two and a half years later, that rift has become a chasm. Thirty-three states have followed Colorado's lead from last year and against the wishes of the old-guard pro-life industry are pursuing "Personhood" amendments and legislation, most working with Denver-based Personhood USA.

"When Romney exited the race," said Lolita Hanks, nurse practitioner and spokeswoman for American RTL, "we announced, 'No longer will National RTL be able to give fraudulent 100% pro-life ratings to Republican pro-choice candidates without being exposed nationally.'"

Opening that rift to the right, a coalition of pro-life organizations including Colorado RTL, Human Life International, Operation Rescue National / OSA, American Life League, and the founders of American RTL, published full-page newspaper ads addressed to Dr. James Dobson of Focus on the Family requesting help to restore truth and integrity to the pro-life movement. Pro-lifers can find reports on Dr. Dobson, Mitt Romney, Alan Keyes, George W. Bush, and many other leaders at ProlifeProfiles.com.

"Sarah Palin has presidential ambition, but she'll have to get serious about protecting the innocent," said Birkey, "because this time around, there's a personhood movement that will expose the pro-abortion record of pretend pro-life candidates."

Pro-Life Amendment Passes - Only Bright Spot in Flawed House Health Bill

You made it happen. With nearly 170,000 of our members standing with us in opposition to the federal funding of abortion in the House health care bill, we realized an incredible victory tonight - the Stupak/Pitts Amendment - which prohibits the use of federal funds for abortion - passed the House.

The passage of this pro-life Amendment represents the only bright spot in an otherwise troubling government-run health care package put forth by House Speaker Pelosi. The American people understand that health care should not include federal funding for abortion and we’re grateful to Democrat Congressmen Bart Stupak (D-Mich) and Joseph Pitts (R-Penn) for their unrelenting efforts in protecting the unborn.

The 176 Republicans and 64 Democrats who stood together in a bipartisan defense of life deserve our sincere gratitude. For many of these Members, this vote was cast in the face of serious pressure to oppose the amendment. While there is work yet to do on this issue, this vote represents an extremely significant victory for life.

Operation Rescue

Washington, DC – The House version of the health care reform legislation narrowly passed with the vote of 220-215 late Saturday evening, but it was done without provisions for the funding of abortions.

The Stupak-Pitts amendment, which will deny tax funding for abortions, handily passed with a vote of 240-194. Abortion funding had threatened to derail the entire House bill on health care with pro-life Democrats strongly opposed to Pelosi’s scheme to force taxpayers to foot the bill for abortions.

Operation Rescue President Troy Newman issues the following statement on today’s votes:

“Today, the voices of 71% of the American people who oppose taxpayer funded abortions were heard loud and clear. We thank each one who took the time to raise their voices in opposition to the Obama-Pelosi-Carhart effort to force taxpayers to fund the shedding of innocent blood through abortion.

“There is still a long way to go to prevent government subsidized health care from paying for abortions. Now the ball is in the Senate’s court, and we pray that the common sense displayed in the House on the matter of abortion funding will also prevail in the Senate.

“We will continue to stand on behalf of the voiceless and oppose any efforts to restore abortion funding in any future version of health care legislation. But for tonight, we celebrate this day’s pro-life victory defunding abortion, which will save lives and prevent the immoral and fiscally irresponsible bailout of the abortion cartel.”
PRI, Population Research Institute
For the moment, however, the pro-life movement can justly take pride in its political strength. Politicians are nothing if not realists, and they have just been treated to the spectacle of both Pelosi and the President caving in to pro-life pressure from within their own party. Notwithstanding their strident support of federally funded abortions, and despite the anger that their action generated among a large part of the Democrat base, they backed down.

Voting Records to Go To All Churches, Leading Priest States

Washington, DC – Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, stated this morning that the voting records of members of Congress on the Stupak-Pitts amendment to HR 3962 (and other abortion-related votes) will be distributed to every Catholic parish in America, with instructions to each pastor on how to make clear to his congregation the implications of how that congregation’s representative voted. “Whatever one’s position on abortion itself,” Fr. Pavone commented, “the vast majority of Americans have always opposed the idea that taxpayers should fund it. Our plan to inform pastors of these voting records is phase one of a year-long effort to activate Churches as never before regarding what they can legally do in preparation for next year’s midterm elections. Publishing voting records in a non-partisan fashion is certainly one of those activities.”

Fr. Pavone also said that in his role as President of the National Pro-life Religious Council, he would also involve Churches of other denominations in this project to educate voters on the outcome of the Stupak-Pitts amendment.

Separating Pro-life wheat from the chaff !

The problematic nature of pandering to politicians with half-measures while announcing to pro-life troops that a victory has been achieved is not a new malady. It has been a relatively consistent pattern woven into National Right to Life Committee politics for many years now. Having said that, the problem with what is currently being said about the Stupak Amendment to the Pelosicare bill is the most egregious I have seen in my 40 years of pro-life activism.

For starters, on Saturday, November 7, NRLC sent a letter to each member of Congress in which the following statement was made:

“As NRLC’s congressional scorecard for the 111th Congress will clearly explain, a vote against the Stupak-Pitts Amendment only be construed as a position-defining vote in favor of establishing a federal government program that will directly fund abortion on demand, with federal funds, and a second federal program that will provide government subsidies to private insurance plans that cover abortion on demand. NRLC regards this as the most important House roll call on federal funding of abortion since the House last voted directly on the Hyde Amendment in 1997. If you do not wish to go on record in support of creating major new federal programs that will both fund abortions directly and subsidize private abortion coverage, please vote for the Stupak-Pitts Amendment. NRLC will regard a “present” vote as equivalent to a negative vote on the Stupak-Pitts Amendment.”

While it could appear that NRLC is threatening members of Congress with a bad score if they vote against the Stupak-Pitts Amendment, the fact is that the amendment itself is halfhearted and fraught with problems. And if one examines the actual text of H. R. 3962, the Pelosicare bill, one finds the following:

This should make it obvious to anyone with a heart for the principles upon which the pro-life movement was founded to see right through the smoke and mirrors that NRLC is now using to deflect criticism from its political misjudgment.

Director of Planned Parenthood at 40 Days for Life Birthplace Resigns after Watching Abortion Ultrasound

Planned Parenthood seeks restraining order
By Kathleen Gilbert

BRYAN, Texas, November 2, 2009 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The director of the Texas Planned Parenthood abortion mill where the 40 Days for Life campaign began has resigned, saying she experienced a conversion after watching an ultrasound video of a child being killed by abortion.

"I just thought I can't do this anymore, and it was just like a flash that hit me and I thought that's it," said Abby Johnson in an interview with local news network KBTX 3.

Johnson had been affiliated with Bryan's Planned Parenthood facility for eight years, and worked as its director for two. She said she began to feel uncomfortable with Planned Parenthood's business philosophy after the organization, suffering from the economic downturn, told her to try to bring more abortions in the door. "The money wasn't in family planning, the money wasn't in prevention, the money was in abortion and so I had a problem with that," said Johnson.

But the turning point for Johnson was reportedly when she witnessed an actual ultrasound image of an abortion being performed on an unborn child.

"I feel so pure in heart. I don't have this guilt, I don't have this burden on me anymore," said Johnson. "And that's how I know that this conversion was a spiritual conversion."

When did your life begin? 23+23=46

Our marvelous friends Maria and Elisha came to Colorado and made this intriguing and compelling video to explain
about the beginning of biological development of human beings.

Every one of us began our lives when sperm met egg and the miraculous moment when 23 + 23 = 46.

Elisha was a Snowflake baby and after having been frozen for four years took a journey across country to Maria as a 2 celled embryo.

Maria successfully carried her to term and now runs an embryo
adoption agency.

You can read this Seattle Times article about her journey and watch this wonderful Youtube video called Rewind about the earliest moments

If Christians won't stand up for the babies, who will?

Dear Mrs. xxxx,

Since visiting your store with a brochure about our Personhood campaign for 2010 and our signature gathering effort, my spirit has been terribly troubled that your register assistant told me that you would not allow the brochure on your bulletin board and that we should not attempt to gather signatures outside the store.

As I told the young woman who advised me of the store's policy to avoid politics, it is more than politics. It is the human rights battle of our generation!

The Bible implores us in Proverbs 24:11-12, to rescue those being unjustly led to the slaughter.

Can Christians really continue in our apathy while 4,000 babies are dismembered daily?

This organization explains the biblical mandate to do something to stop the abortion holocaust!

Since the Amendment 48 vote in 2008, Personhood efforts are springing up around the country. 30 states are now pursuing Personhood campaigns to bring legal protection to the pre-born child.

Psalms 139: For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother's womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,
your eyes saw my unformed body.
All the days ordained for me
were written in your book
before one of them came to be.

Hi Leslie,

Becky and I as individuals are very pro-life, but this is a personal choice and a very political issue whether we want it to be or not. As stewards of our bookstore we have made many tough choices. It seems like not a week goes by that individuals in the community question our faith about one thing or another.

We apologize if our decision has troubled your spirit.

Blessings,

Jeff and Becky

Jeff,

I appreciate your reply but have to ask if you would have had the same reaction to the plight of the Jews in Hitler's Germany who were being led to the gas chambers? It was legal to kill them. Would you really have stood idly by and wondered if people would possibly buy fewer of your books if you tried to help a Jewish family?

Or could you have turned your back on the slaves who were mis-treated as property and forced to labor for the benefit
of their masters?

Slavery was ended by people of conscience and so was the holocaust.

One can no longer claim to be pro-life without taking action.

We are our brother's keeper in a sense and we can't turn a blind eye to human rights abuses all around us.

I might suggest that you view an incredible article that ran in the NY Timesa few weeks back.

Little Girl's Cancer Inspires Runners, Donations

Written for the Web by CBS4 Special Projects Producer Libby Smith

At the Denver Marathon on Sunday, October 18th, one team of runners is hoping to raise awareness of childhood cancers. The Miles for Tuesday team is running to honor a little girl who lost a big battle against cancer.

Friends and family will tell you that Tuesday Whitt was a beautiful little girl.

"She had a twin sister and two older brothers so she was born tough," said Mike Whitt, Tuesday's grandfather.

She got tougher when she was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a common cancer in children. Tuesday underwent 7 months of chemotherapy and radiation. She lost her battle with cancer in January. Tuesday was two-years-old.

"I think she was an inspiration to everyone who met her," Whitt told CBS4.

Now Tuesday is inspiring her grandfather and others on a new journey. They're running in the Denver Marathon.

"The goal is for everyone to collectively to do something wonderful," said Bill Mell, team captain.

The Miles for Tuesday team is 33 members strong and hopes to raise $15,000 for the Children's Hospital Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders.

"People's generosity has just really come out through this," Mell added.

Mell hopes that the inspiration of a little girl can make a big difference in the fight against childhood cancers.

"If you're going to run 26 miles you might as well do something for the better and for the community," Mell said.

Tuesday's grandfather will be running the full marathon – his first in 16 years.

"This event is a difficult physical challenge and it brings out an awareness of what it's like for those people being treated for cancer," Whitt said.

Abortion isn't health care, it's MURDER!

Principal to boy: Strip off 'insulting' pro-life shirt

Student wears 'Abortion is not health care' slogan to Obama school speech

A Christian middle-school student is suing his school district after a principal ordered him to remove a T-shirt bearing the message "Abortion is not health care" on the day of President Obama's speech to schoolchildren.

Alliance Defense Fund attorneys filed a lawsuit in federal court against the West Shore School District in Lewisberry, Pa., Oct. 5 on behalf of a male, Christian middle-school student identified as E.B.

The boy's parents, identified as the Boyers, said they were concerned about the president's speech and the national health-care debate, including reported funding of abortion within proposed legislation.

"[T]he Boyers, like many others, felt that President Obama was bypassing them and speaking directly to their children without their permission," the complaint states. "… Like many others, the Boyers struggled with whether they should send their children to school on that day. E.B. attended school and decided to voice his religious viewpoint as it relates to the issue of abortion."

The boy wore the T-shirt to his classes at Crossroads Middle School and said he received no complaints until his fifth-period teacher ordered him to go to the principal's office to determine whether the shirt was "appropriate."

E.B. claims he was immediately told to remove his shirt "because it might insult somebody."
